Dan was known for his nautical artwork, his eclectic style & his generous nature. He was a true saskatoon icon whose carefree spirit & love of life touched many. Many encountered Sailor Dan on the streets of Saskatoon, where he sold his drawings of the same ship for decades. A ship that, ironically, became an iconic local image in the middle of the prairies.

Dan & I began working together in 2014. A collaboration of my clothing designswith his iconic ship printed on them. He recieved royalties for every piece sold from the collection. VIsiting with Dan was always entertaining. He often came with a song, or a little dance, a lively story or brilliant idea! Daan struggleed with mental health & often frequented many of the organizations in the community for support. After his passing, his royslties are now directed to these local mental health organizations.
